Merchandiser (Food)
The Job
- Collaborate with buyers and venders to negotiate prices, quantities, product design/features and project timelines.
- Proactively source new suppliers and propose products based on buyer requirements.
- Ensure suppliers have a good understanding of REWE requirements, product specifications and the required quality level.
- Provide end-to-end order follow up from sample approval and mass production to shipment.
- Work closely with peer groups to ensure alignment on quality, packaging and logistics requirements.
- Track order status and proactively identify and prevent late shipments.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of orders in the system.
Requirements
- Degree holder in Agricultural Science, Food Science or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience, preferable in European buying offices.
- Knowledge of European market and quality standards and requirements on food retail products.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of the team in a cross-cultural environment.
- Solution-oriented, attention to details, and always striving for customer success and excellent service.
- Mature personality with a high level of independence and integrity.
- Proficient in both spoken and written English.
- Proficient in MS Office applications (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Able to travel independently for both inbound and outbound trips.
